Practical Woodwork

Practical Woodwork is a National 4/National 5 course available to students in the Senior Phase. It builds upon the practical skills students gain through the integrated Craft, Design and Technologies course in S1 and 2 as well as the Practical Skills option available to students in S3.

The course is internally assessed and consists of three units:

  • Flat-frame construction
  • Carcase Construction
  • Machining and Finishing

At National 4 students will also complete an Added Value Unit: Making a Finished Product from Wood. At National 5 students must also produce a finished product in wood to a given standard.

Full course details and entry requirements are available in our Senior Phase Course Choice Booklet.
