Exam Transport 2024

Please see information below from West Lothian Council regarding exam transport.   Thank you.

During the Exam period school transport will still run at its normal time. All students sitting exams that begin and end within the normal school time will be expected to either make use of the school transport provided or make their own arrangements to get to and from the exams they are sitting.

West Lothian Council will provide additional school transport for exams for students who have an entitlement to free school transport where an exam falls on a day when transport to and from school would not otherwise be provided (including local holidays and in-service days) or where an exam finishes after the normal school time.

Students must register for this transport during the exam period. All info & the registration form are available at Exam Transport 2024. Applications open on the 29 March and the deadline for completion is 17 APRIL.

For many children, breakfast can be the most important meal of the day. Studies have shown that children who start the day with a healthy breakfast have better concentration, are more alert and perform better in school.

We will be running a free Breakfast Club in Home Economics, Monday to Friday from 8.00 to 8.30am.  This will also be a place where students have the opportunity to socialise with their peers and spend time with students from other year groups.

 All students most welcome.

At Armadale Academy we work in partnership with LEAPS to support our S5 and S6 learners in applying to Higher Education.

LEAPS is a widening participation programme which aims to encourage and advise students who are traditionally under-represented in higher education. They support young people in South East Scotland, raising aspirations and providing impartial advice about higher education. They currently work with state secondary schools throughout South East Scotland, supporting pupils who match LEAPS eligibility criteria.

For more information, please see the link below. Our S5 and S6 students will soon be briefed on this support in preparation for LEAPS interviews next term.
